Suspect arrested in Kemptville homicide: OPP

OPP state in an Oct. 11 press release that they are investigating a homicide in Kemptville.

Grenville OPP say that on Oct. 10, shortly after 1:30 p.m., officers attended a residence on County Road 19, Kemptville, where they found a deceased person inside.

The deceased has been identified as Corey Greenwood, 35, of North Grenville. 

At around 4:30 p.m., police located and arrested a suspect, identified as Jamie Quesnel, 27, of South Dundas. The accused was charged with second-degree murder, contrary to Section 235(1) of the Criminal Code, and was held for a bail hearing on Oct. 11 at the Ontario Court of Justice. This charge has not been proven in court.

While the investigation is in its early stages, police do not believe there is a risk to public safety, however, residents should expect to see an increased police presence in the area during this investigation. 

This investigation is being conducted by the Grenville County OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and Centre of Forensic Sciences.
