A 19-year-old from Delta is in an induced coma at Kingston General Hospital following an ATV collision that took place in Rideau Lakes on Saturday, Nov. 4 near County Road 8 and Chantry Road.

In a Go Fund Me started last week, Laura Reid states that her nephew Joshua Reid “has severe head trauma (TBI) and has been in induced coma, since Saturday at KGH/ICU.”

Laura noted that Joshua has had two drains put in to relieve pressure and fluid on his brain, two surgeries (one to relieve pressure on his optic nerves and one to repair skull damage).

“Unfortunately there could be more surgeries and Joshua will have a long road to recovery,” Laura says.

She explains that Joshua’s father is self-employed, but at this time needs to be at the hospital with his family.

“Jerry & Heather have been at the hospital daily since the accident and we are trying to help lift the financial burden so they can continue to be there.”

Laura says every little bit helps “and will be greatly appreciated by the family.”

As of the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 14, a total of $6,780 has been raised.
