UPDATE: Suspects still at large after home invasion, gunshots fired in Brockville

Brockville police posted to Facebook on the evening of Friday, Dec. 1, that they are asking the public to remain out of the downtown area for safety concerns.

In particular, police asked people to avoid the areas of George Street and Clarrisa Street, as well as Pine Street between Bartholomew and Bennett Streets.

In a media release issued later that night, police said that at about 8 p.m., the Brockville Police Service received numerous 911 calls regarding gunshots fired in the area of Pine Street.

“This disturbance led police searching for suspects throughout the downtown area of Brockville,” police said, adding that the suspects were believed to be in a small white sedan.

Police also learned that a home invasion that had taken place in the area of George Street, and later discovered these incidents were connected. There was a multi-officer response to secure multiple crime scenes.

“All known victims involved are accounted for and luckily, no one was seriously injured,” police said in the media release.

Police are in the initial stages of what they believe will be a lengthy investigation, and at this time, the suspects involved in this incident remain at large. Police continue to ask the public to avoid the areas of Pine Street between Bartholomew and Bennett Streets, and George Street between Perth and Clarissa Streets. They are also asking for any citizens who have surveillance cameras on King Street East, between the areas of Bennett Street and Court House Avenue, to check for any video footage of suspicious activity involving a small white sedan, around 8 p.m. Friday.
