Looking for a last minute Christmas gift for the the history-loving Brockvilleian in your life?

The City of Brockville has made available a book entitled “The Story of Brockville” by Glenn J. Lockwood.

The City published the book in 2006 and a quantity has been kept in storage for several years, but staff has recently been required to relocate the books.

“We would prefer that the books are in people’s homes instead of another storage room and would like to offer them to the public,” says a media release from the City.

On Wednesday, Dec. 20 and Thursday, Dec. 21, people can come to the west side of City Hall between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., or until supplies run out, to pick up a copy of the book. Folks are asked to bring a non-perishable item for the food bank as payment.

“Please access Market Street West from Water Street to keep traffic moving easily in and out of the drop off zone,” the City advises.

No parking signs have been set up in the angled-parking top four spaces to facilitate the pick up and drop off during this giveaway so you can pull right in to get your book.

“Brockville City Council and Brockville City Staff would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and hope that you will enjoy having these books on your bookshelves for years to come,” the media release concludes.
