What’s open and closed in Brockville this Family Day

Monday, Feb. 19 is Family Day, a statutory holiday that will affect some municipal services and store hours. Here’s what you need to know in Brockville. Do you know of something that should be added to this? Email hollie@hometownist.com.

RETAIL, RESTAURANTS, ACTIVITIES

  • Walmart will be open 7 a.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Giant Tiger will be closed
  • Food Basics will be closed
  • Metro will be closed
  • Real Canadian Superstore will be closed
  • Most Shoppers Drug Mart locations will be open throughout the weekend for regular hours, but some may vary. Click here to search store hours in Brockville
  • All LCBOand Beer Store locations will be closed
  • The Brockville Aquatarium will be open all weekend, including Monday, when they are hosting a special ‘Family Fun Day,’ inviting visitors to meet the Aquatarium’s ‘family.’
  • The Brockville Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (admission by donation). This includes the opening of their new temporary exhibit, Quilting Memories, and the launch of a new Children’s Discovery Kit.
  • The Brockville Memorial Centre will host a Family Day Skate from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., hosted by Tanya Edmunds from Royal Lepage
  • The Rotary Park Outdoor Rink is the site of the Brockville Winter Classic Weekend, with the following schedule:
    • Thursday, February 15
      • Rink is closed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
      • Noon to 2 p.m.: Winter Classic School Cup, St. Mary versus Thousand Islands Secondary School
      • 8 to 9:30 p.m.: Brockville Rifles versus Brockville Police
    • Friday, February 16
      • Rink is open according to the regular schedule from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
    • Saturday, February 17
      • 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Hockey tournament, family activities, barbecue, and more
      • Rink reopens from 6 to 9 p.m.
    • Sunday, February 18
      • Rink is open according to the regular schedule from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
    • Monday, February 19
      • 9 to 11 a.m.: Sledge hockey games and demo
      • 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.: RBC Family Day Skate
      • Rink reopens from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.

MUNICIPAL SERVICES

  • City Hall will be closed
  • The Gord Watts Municipal Centre will be closed
  • There will be no transit service
  • Garbage and recycling collection all week moves to the following day
