This is a scheduled shutdown, slated to occur from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., staff say.

“The shutdown is required to complete the electrical upgrades at the water treatment plant,” a statement from the Town reads. “In advance of the shutdown, the water tower will be filled to provide residents with an emergency water supply.”

It was noted by staff that emergency services and all other required agencies are aware of the scheduled shutdown.

“Gananoque residents are additionally being asked to restrict their water usage during this same time on March 20 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.,” the Town’s release reads.

For more information, residents are being asked to contact Christine Brennan, the Acting Superintendent Water and Wastewater and Utilities Coordinator at 613-382-2149, extension 1612.
