On Friday, May 3, the Hon. Raymond Sung Joon Cho, MPP for Scarborough North and Minister for Seniors and Accessibility, along with Steve Clark, MPP for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes, dropped by the YMCA of Eastern Ontario to try out the new pickleball courts and spend time with area seniors.

Minister Cho and MPP Clark were hosted by Rob Adams, CEO of the YMCA of Eastern Ontario and Emily Wimpenny, Director, Regional Operations and Programs.

“We’re always happy to host and share the work the Y does in the region and we’re especially thrilled to display our recently completed courts,” said Rob Adams, CEO, YMCA of Eastern Ontario. “It’s been a pleasure have Minister Cho and MPP Clark here to tour the Y and to participate in a game of pickleball with some of our members. The courts are both accessible and night-lit, which is a tremendous community asset. We are hosting an open house on May 26 for members of the public to come and try out pickleball and basketball, and are looking into the possibility of future pickleball tournaments here.”
