Man with warrant for previous break and enter caught attempting to break into Brockville residence

Brockville police recently arrested a man who was reportedly attempting to break into a residence.

Police say that on May 3, at about noon, officers received information regarding a man attempting to open windows at a residence on Wall Street. Officers attended and located a male matching the description.

Police say that as they spoke to the suspect, they attempted to place him under detention; however, he proceeded to flee from police. Officers gave chase and eventually located him in the nearby area.

The 38-year-old was placed under arrest for this incident, as well as an outstanding warrant for break and enter to a store on King Street West last month.

Once he was arrested he was searched and brass knuckles were found in his possession, police say.

He was held for bail for the offences of break and enter, unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition order, escape lawful custody and three counts of fail to comply with probation.
