Gananoque declares July 31 ‘Mr. Charles “Charlie” F. Donevan Day’

Gananoque Town Council has declared Wednesday, July 31, 2024 as “Mr. Charles “Charlie” F. Donevan Day” in the Town of Gananoque.

“Charlie served as an ambassador for his beloved Gananoque for over 90 years,” the Town said in a press release regarding the declaration. “This would have been his 100th Birthday.”

The celebration of the unveiling of a commemorative bench and plaque will take place on Wednesday, Jul. 31 at 2:00 P.M. in front of the TD Bank at 100 King Street East.

Following the unveiling, the Town said, the Donevan Family has invited all residents to attend a reception at Donevan’s Hardware Store at 135 King Street East.
