If you’re looking for one last opportunity to break out your cowboy hat and boots before summer’s end, The Big River Country Fest has got you.

The event is coming to Happy Green Acres Campground in Mallorytown Sept. 5-7.

The Big River Country Fest is being organized in collaboration with 1000 Islands RV Centre in Gananoque. The three-day event will celebrate over 50 years of classic country music hits with all-night jamming in the Clubhouse Lounge and performances from 17 artists from around Ontario. In between jam sessions, guests can also take a dip in the heated pool and then warm up by the bonfire with some delicious food.

Bancroft-based band Canadian Tall Boys will perform at the Country Fest on Friday, Sept. 6 at 7:15 p.m. Band member Scott Stewart told Brockvilleist, “We’ve never been to the area but we’ve been hearing lots of great reviews about the Happy Green Acres venue from fellow musicians and are looking forward to a fun weekend with the whole family.”

Stewart continued, “The line-up is incredible and we look forward to bringing our own style of campfire jamming to the stage in Mallorytown.”

Jessica Lavalee, a local musician from Mallorytown, will also be taking to the stage on Friday, Sept. 6 at 2:45 p.m. Since the age of six, Lavalee has been playing the guitar and singing whenever she can.

“I sing a lot of different styles but country will be what I’m doing next week. I’ve played at Happy Green Acres many times and they reached out to me last year to ask if I wanted to play this gig and I said of course.”

Lavalee typically performs as a solo artist but she’s looking forward to jamming with other music-lovers next weekend.

“I sing a lot on my own, you know, I’m a solo artist so what’s really fun about this gig is that there will be other musicians on stage to back me up. I’m really excited to get up on stage and just share our love of music, especially country music.”

Attendees can purchase individual day passes for $59 (not including HST) or three-day festival and campsite passes for $159.

Happy Green Acres Campground is pet friendly and offers everything from full hookup sites to group camping. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit https://happygreenacres.com/upcoming-events-2/
