Elizabethtown-Kitley CAO/Clerk to step down

The Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley’s Administrator (CAO/Clerk) announced today (Tuesday, Aug. 27) that she will be officially stepping down from her role effective Oct. 4 to take on a new challenge.
Leslie Drynan joined the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley in January 2023, a media release explains.
“During her tenure, Leslie’s empathetic servant leadership style has been pivotal in navigating the Township through various challenges and opportunities. She has been instrumental in leading the team through execution of the Township’s 2023-2026 Strategic Plan, supporting modernization efforts and improving internal and external service levels without losing sight of the customer and employee experience,” the release continues.
Mayor Burrow, speaking on behalf of council, expressed his gratitude and best wishes to the outgoing CAO/Clerk, saying, “Ms. Drynan’s positive energy and enthusiasm was felt from the very first moment she joined our organization. As evidenced by our current Strategic Plan, Council set some very ambitious goals for this term and we have already made huge strides on many fronts. We have Mr. Drynan’s relentless drive for excellence to thank for that – something I know she tries to instill in others every day.” Mayor Burrow went on to extend heartfelt thanks to Ms. Drynan for her service, commenting, “To say her absence will be felt for some time would be an understatement; she has left a permanent mark. Nevertheless, we wish her nothing but the best in her next venture and we know that success will follow her.”
Mayor Burrow said the Township’s attention will now turn to locating the ideal successor to carry on the great work that Drynan has started.
“I am eternally grateful that Mayor Burrow and Council took a chance on me as a first-time CAO,” Drynan said. “Our unified progressive approach to executing the new strategic plan, while navigating some challenging situations, resulted in various internal and external promotions/recruitment, a modernized and empowered team, and an enhanced focus on service delivery. It has set the tone for the future success of Elizabethtown-Kitley and, in my opinion, the Township now has some of the best in the business leading your respective departments. While it saddens me immensely to leave this brilliant, dedicated team, please know that it has been a privilege serving this community the past 21-months.”
The recruitment process for a permanent Administrator (CAO/Clerk) will commence immediately. During the transition period, Ms. Drynan and Ms. Christine Martin, Director of Finance/Deputy CAO will work closely with Council and the leadership staff to ensure a smooth transition.
