Woman on multiple probation orders charged after robbery at Brockville Salvation Army

A woman already on four different probation orders was charged again over the weekend after an incident at the Brockville Salvation Army.
Police say that on Aug. 31, at about 11:30 a.m., officers received information that a robbery had taken place at the local Salvation Army, located at 175 First Avenue, at about 7:30 p.m. the night before.
“Officers attended the area and viewed the crime scene where some evidence was left behind,” police explain in a Sept. 3 media release.
Their investigation revealed that a 27-year-old woman had attended the Salvation Army accompanied by two other subjects.
“While there, the 27-year-old female began assaulting one of the two others with her, one being the female victim,” police say. “She punched and elbowed the victim multiple times in the head and began striking her with a large stick.”
The suspect is accused of stealing a cellphone and cash from the victim’s pockets during the assault.
The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police say.
At about 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, the suspect was arrested.
Police say it was learned that she had been sentenced on four different occasions to probation and was on four different probation orders. She was held for a bail hearing after being charged with robbery and four counts of failing to comply with probation.
