Members of Outlaws motorcycle gang expected in Gananoque this Friday the 13th

Gananoque’s mayor, John Beddows, along with the Gananoque Police Service and Ontario Provincial Police, have issued notices to residents in advance of the upcoming Friday the 13th weekend.
“As has become the practice over the last several years, this Friday the 13th weekend we can expect the presence of members of the Outlaws in Gananoque,” Beddows said in a statement.
He noted that any “public order needs” will be “ably fulfilled by your Gananoque Police Service enabled by the assistance of supporting services and agencies.”
Mayor Beddows said he “celebrates the rights we all have as Canadians to travel and gather freely, provided that laws and bylaws are respected in so doing.”
A Thursday, Sept. 12 joint media release from the Ontario Provincial Police and the Gananoque Police Service explains that “Outlaw motorcycle gangs are among criminal organizations whose wide array of criminal activity can cause harm and victimization in communities across Ontario.”
However, police remind citizens that these events have occurred over the last few years with minimal disruption. Residents are asked to contact police if they require assistance.
The media release states that “the Gananoque Police Service, along with other outside agencies, have taken proper precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens and visitors of the Town of Gananoque.”
