New sign at Gananoque field honours Arlene Cartwright

Last week, the Town of Gananoque revealed a new sign at the Arlene Cartwright ball field, which is located behind Town Hall.

Elected officials were on hand, as well as some residents of the town, as the community recognized Cartwright’s contributions to local baseball and the town, by placing her name on the field. This occurred on Sept. 19.

Members of the Gananoque and TLTI Baseball league then hosted a game in Cartwright’s honour.

Gananoque Mayor John Beddows thanked Cartwright for her contributions to the community.

Cartwright is a former Champion of Gananoque recipient.

She has had her name on the local baseball diamond in Gananoque since the early 1990s and now has her name as part of the recently refurbished Town Hall Park baseball diamond.
