Brockville police officer found guilty of breach of trust no longer employed with BPS

A Brockville police officer found guilty of breach of trust in 2019 is no longer employed with the Brockville Police Service (BPS).
In an Oct. 4 statement, the BPS said that Constable Jeffrey Rean resigned from the service effective Sept. 30, 2024. “He is no longer a police officer or employed by the Brockville Police Service,” the statement says.
In 2019, Rean was found guilty of criminal breach of trust for failing to disclose a sexual relationship with a woman he was investigating. He was sentenced to jail time, probation and community service.
Police say that as a result of this resignation, all Police Service Act (PSA) matters have been concluded.
Police say no further comment will be provided.
