Christmas movie filmed in Brockville to air on Netflix next month

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, Nov. 13, to cozy up on the couch with some popcorn and watch downtown Brockville come to life on the small screen.
Brockville was abuzz with excitement throughout April and May of 2024 when locals noticed some familiar on-screen stars hanging around downtown. Actors Lacey Chabert (Mean Girls, 2004), Dustin Milligan (90210, Schitt’s Creek) and Craig Robinson (The Office) spent almost two weeks in the city to film their upcoming Christmas movie Hot Frosty (previously Love at Frost Sight).
Hot Frosty, directed by Jerry Ciccoritti, is being released alongside a stacked roster of Netflix holiday movies on Nov. 13.
The description reads: “When a young widow’s magic scarf brings a dashing snowman to life, can he help her rediscover romance, laughter and holiday cheer before he melts away?” Based on the movie’s description and the teaser image, it seems it will offer a fresh spin on the classic Jack Frost legend.
Local readers may recognize the snow-covered scenic view of Courthouse Avenue in downtown Brockville, which appears to be a prominent setting in the movie.

Considering the filming wrapped in May, it’s safe to say the piles of snow were fake, but the street makes for a beautiful festive setting all the same. The historic old Montreal Trust building, now home to the Keystorm Pub, was also used for interior filming.
