Hot Frosty, hot cocoa, Santa Claus and more coming to Brockville’s Miracle on King Street

Mark your calendars for Saturday, Nov. 16. For the fourth year running, the holiday-inspired event Miracle on King Street is coming to Brockville.
At the meeting of Brockville City Council on Tuesday, Oct. 22, the Downtown Brockville Downtown Business Improvement Area (DBIA) submitted a request to council to declare the Miracle on King Street event on Nov. 16 an event of “municipal significance.” This declaration allows the event to receive a Special Occasion Permit as required by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
DBIA Executive Director Meg Brazeau explained, “When an event is granted municipal significance, it means the municipality formally recognizes the event as important to the local community.”
She continued, “This designation is beneficial in several ways, including assisting with permits, road closures, and access to various resources. It also signals to the public that this is a valuable, community-driven event, which helps encourage participation and local business involvement.”
This “shop the street” style event will be taking place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will see King Street West transformed into a festive wonderland filled with holiday cheer for all ages. The day will feature special appearances by Santa Claus and Disney’s Princess Elsa, as well as live music, petting zoos, holiday-themed competitions, hot cocoa and so much more.
Holiday shopping is made all the more special when you’re able to support local vendors and shop for unique handmade goods. Festive food trucks and local restaurateurs will also be on-site, ensuring no guest leaves the event empty-handed or with an empty stomach.
The DBIA will also be hosting a special screening of Hot Frosty, the Netflix movie that was partially filmed right in the heart of downtown Brockville earlier this year.
Brazeau told Brockvilleist, “The DBIA has been organizing the Miracle on King Street for years, and it has quickly become a holiday staple in Brockville. The event screams community spirit with festive activities while also supporting local businesses.”
She shared that this year feels extra special because of the support from city council and Brockville Tourism. “We’ve also had the pleasure of collaborating closely with Brockville Tourism, which has allowed us to combine our resources and plan an even more cohesive and extravagant event than in previous years.”
In order to make the event easily accessible for everyone, all buses will be running for free throughout the entire city. The evening will conclude with the highly-anticipated Santa Claus Parade at 4 p.m.
