Stirling Meadows subdivision nears final approval in Brockville

It’s nearly official…
The long-anticipated Stirling Meadows subdivision in Brockville will likely receive its final approval next week after being approved by the Planning and Development Committee on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
The subdivision, which is years in the making, is being built on the east side of Windsor Drive, south of Centennial Road, and west of Bridlewood Drive, directly across from the Mac Johnson Wildlife Area. The proposed development includes 74 single-detached homes, 120 semi-detached homes, 105 townhouses, 54 back-to-back townhouses, a 50-unit apartment building, easements, road widenings, and nine new streets.
According to the report, the subdivision agreement was finalized, addressing conditions such as infrastructure provisions, storm water management, and the requirements of utility and service providers. The subdivision now complies with existing zoning regulations and includes amenities like park lands and pathways.
Mayor Matt Wren took a moment to share his optimism about this project.
“I’d just like to say how exciting it is that this is moving forward, that houses are actually going to be built in a project that both the developer and the city worked very hard at.” He continued, “It does demonstrate to the public that these are complex projects. They do take time, and this goes back to the last term of Council, when this all began.”
Brockville City Council will vote on the final approval at the general meeting next week on Dec. 11.
