Highway 401 westbound near Mallorytown closed due to multiple collisions

Multiple collisions on Highway 401 near Brockville have resulted in the closure of the westbound section of the highway on the evening of Thursday, Jan. 9.

OPP say in a social media post that officers are currently at the scene of multiple collisions along Highway 401 in the westbound direction from Mallorytown at milemarker 675 to Lansdowne at milemarker 659. One person was reported with serious injuries.

Police say the westbound direction will remain closed for an extended period of time. The eastbound lanes are unaffected.

“Please avoid the area, and if you must travel through there, follow the detour signs that are posted,” police say.
