Augusta Township welcomes new municipal clerk

The Township of Augusta has announced the appointment a new municipal clerk, Lindsey Veltkamp.
She will officially start the role on Feb. 18.
Mayor Jeff Shaver said that he has no doubt Veltkamp will be a positive influence on council, committees and residents of the township.
“Lindsey brings with her experience, knowledge, and leadership to oversee and improve the administration of the municipality,” Shaver said in a statement. “Lindsey is joining our team at an exciting time and will have an important part in the growth of our Township. Please join me in welcoming Lindsey to her new position.”
In this role, Veltkamp will be responsible for overseeing municipal elections, managing official records, supporting council meetings, and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. The municipal clerk plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of local government processes and fostering public trust.
Veltkamp previously worked for the Town of Prescott as director of administration and clerk; in that role, she “successfully managed the retention and organization of municipal records, ensuring strict adherence to legal guidelines for record destruction and retention,” the Township says in a media release.
She also holds a diploma in public administration, and is the president of the Prescott Figure Skating Club.
