Sherwood Park Manor enters new era of $45 million redevelopment with community fundraising drive

Sherwood Park Manor in Brockville is entering a new era of growth and transformation with the direction of two key leaders to drive its $45 million redevelopment project forward.
Nancy Nesbitt-Boucher, the newly appointed executive director, and Brooklyn Patrick, the fundraising coordinator, are taking the helm during this crucial moment in the Manor’s 50-year history.
Big things are in store in 2025 as the Manor is undertaking an ambitious $5 million fundraising campaign aimed at expanding capacity, modernizing facilities, and strengthening its role as an important community hub in Leeds and Grenville. Established in 1974, Sherwood Park Manor is now a 107-bed not-for-profit, non-municipal long-term care home for seniors in the Brockville area.
Brooklyn Patrick told Brockvilleist, “My role as Fundraising Coordinator has given me the opportunity to engage with community members, businesses, donors and our team here at the Manor who are all eager to support our redevelopment campaign. The momentum behind this project is strong, and I’m excited to help drive it forward.”
Patrick will oversee the day-to-day operations of the fundraising campaign, ensuring the Manor reaches its goal of securing $5 million in community contributions to make their vision a reality. “Our approach to community engagement is all about storytelling, transparency, and connection. We’re making it a priority to share the real impact Sherwood Park Manor has on residents and families, reinforcing why this redevelopment is needed now.”
This campaign strategy includes a mix of grassroots outreach, digital campaigns, targeted fundraising events and business partnerships. “We’ve also structured our fundraising efforts to offer various giving opportunities…We’re committed to finding an opportunity for everyone to get involved, no matter their capacity to give.”
One of the first major fundraising initiatives under Patrick’s campaign leadership will be the highly anticipated Casino Royale event. The first of its kind in Brockville, this event is set to take place on March 28 at the Brockville Memorial Centre. The event will feature food, drinks, prizes and live music. Patrick explained, “This is all in support of the Legacy of Care campaign. While no real money is gambled, guests will have the chance to win fantastic prizes throughout the night including a $1,000 grand prize.”
Brockville is a city with an aging population and increasing demand for long-term care, and Patrick wants to encourage the local community to support this redevelopment campaign, not only to help seniors today but also to invest in their own future wellness.
“Simply put, this could be their home one day. We all have parents, grandparents, or loved ones who may need a place like Sherwood Park Manor. The redevelopment isn’t just about updating a building—it’s about ensuring that our family and friends who need a place to call home receive the care they deserve in a place that allows them to truly celebrate living.”
