1000 Islands & Seaway Cruises recently published on their Facebook page, “Show us your uncompensated cancelled airline ticket to the U.S. and we’ll treat you to a FREE 1000 Islands cruise for every seat cancelled in protest of Trump’s treatment of Canada! Because we appreciate your sacrifice!”

In an interview with Brockvilleist, Captain Andrew Neeteson, known as Captain Andy, explained why he decided to pursue this promotion. “I’m very pro-Canadian. I’m very upset with what’s happening with our neighbours, and I’ve seen people cancel their hotels and flights, and I support that.”

He continued, “I think we should, as much as possible, boycott the U.S. until we get this straightforward. Those people are making a sacrifice, and I appreciate it. So I decided I would make that offer, obviously, just as it’s not a big offer, but it’s just something to let them know that their sacrifices are appreciated.”

Since he posted this offer online, many people have reached out to the local company to express their interest. Captain Andy told Brockvilleist, “I mean, obviously we don’t want it to be abused either, because that spoils the whole intent. But we intend to honour it. If you can show us that you cancelled your airline ticket for Florida or South Carolina or whatever, we have something to give back to you.”

Although Captain Andy acknowledges that a 90-minute cruise around the 1000 Islands is not the same as a full vacation to the United States, he views it as a “token of our appreciation.”

To take advantage of this offer, send an email to info@1000islandscruises.com with proof of documentation for your cancelled flight.
