Dr. Jim Raffan delivers a heartfelt hit at Storyfest in Seeley’s Bay

In a village where the pace is slow but the people think fast, Seeley’s Bay played host to something beautiful on Sunday afternoon – a love letter to Canada, told in laughter, tears, and a few perfectly played notes.
Dr. James Raffan, part adventurer, part philosopher, and entirely Canadian, brought his latest chapter of Storyfest to life with The Accidental Canadian, with a storytelling set list that danced between funny, poignant, and profound.
It was a show for right now, a time where the ground shifts and we try to remember who we are. Raffan reminded the well-attended room exactly who that is.
Few have seen this country like Raffan has – coast to coast, water to ice, sky to land – and fewer still can capture its pulse in words, song, and image.
But he does. He did. And when it was over, those lucky enough to have been there left feeling a little more rooted, a little more proud, and maybe a little more Canadian than when they arrived.
All proceeds, as always, go to the quiet heroes at the Seeley’s Bay Area Residents’ Association, who continue to build community the way Raffan tells stories: with care, soul, and a touch of magic.
