Two men charged in separate domestic assaults in Brockville

Brockville police have laid charges in connection with two separate domestic violence incidents reported between April 18 and April 20.
On Friday, April 18, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault involving a woman and her 42-year-old husband at a residence on Thomas Street. Police say the woman had been assaulted and required medical attention after being struck with a frying pan. She was transported to Brockville General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The 42-year-old man was arrested a short time later and charged with assault with a weapon. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
In a separate incident, police received a 911 call at around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 20, regarding a domestic assault involving a 47-year-old man and his girlfriend. Police say the woman fled to a safe location near Balmoral Place after being pushed and pinned on a couch during an argument. The man allegedly attempted to take her cell phone before fleeing the scene.
The 47-year-old man was located and arrested later that evening during a traffic stop near King Street East and Ormond Street. He was charged with assault and released with conditions pending a future court date.
