The YMCA of Eastern Ontario and the Brockville Rowing Club have announced a new partnership that will expand summer camp options for local youth in 2025.

As part of the agreement, the YMCA will operate four weeks of full-day rowing camps for both beginners and experienced rowers. The partnership will combine the YMCA’s experience in delivering high-quality day camps with the Rowing Club’s focus on fostering interest and skill in the sport.

“We’re excited to partner with the Brockville Rowing Club to bring this incredible opportunity to local youth,” said Rob Adams, CEO of the YMCA of Eastern Ontario. “Together, we can inspire young people to discover their potential, build lasting connections, and develop a lifelong love for staying active and engaged in their community.”

Michael O’Shaughnessy, Chair of the Brockville Rowing Club’s Board of Directors, added: “We’re proud to be partnering with the YMCA to bring a new level of excellence to our summer programs. The Y’s reputation for running safe, engaging camps complements our goal of nurturing a strong community of rowers. We look forward to welcoming youth from across the region to our boathouse this summer.”

Camps will emphasize safety, skill development, and fun. Registration is available through the YMCA’s online portal at eo.ymca.ca. Programs will accommodate various skill levels, and families will also have access to the YMCA’s financial assistance program.

Families who previously registered with the Rowing Club will be contacted directly to ensure their registrations are transferred smoothly to the YMCA system.
