Brockville Rotary Clubs set to tee up for 15th annual golf tournament
There’s another golf for a good cause event to mark on your calendars in the Leeds and Grenville area.
Local golfers are being invited to grab their drivers and hit the greens as two Rotary Clubs in Brockville are gearing up for the annual Rotary Golf Tournament on Friday, June 6, 2025. Going on its 15th year, the golf tournament is now one of the Brockville Rotary Clubs’ key fundraisers in the Leeds and Grenville community.
Set to take place at the Prescott Golf Club, the tournament aims to raise funds to support various projects and organizations in the community. The event, which has become a staple in the clubs’ fundraising agenda, promises a full day of camaraderie, competition and community spirit.
Brockville city councillor and Rotarian Katherine Hobbs told Brockvilleist, “A new Rotary Golf committee is struck each year, although there are many returning members.”
The tournament takes months to plan, with the initial committee meeting in January to start planning the event, including selecting the date, selecting the golf club, and determining all the entertainment components to make the day special. “Once these decisions are made, a myriad of other activities for marketing of the event then ensues,” explained Hobbs.
With an 1 p.m. shotgun start, participants will set off to enjoy 18 holes of golf, along with Scotch tasting, dinner, auctions, and prizes—all in support of a wide range of local causes including QueenCare, local food banks, the Rotary Dog Park, Maple View Lodge, Sherwood Park Manor and many more!
“The Rotary Clubs work as one…to work on the projects that benefit our residents, our community, our visitors and people benefiting from our international projects,” said Hobbs. “There are a number of committees – and decisions on where the funds are dispersed are decided by the Appropriations Committee.”
The price of admission for Prescott Golf Club Members is $135 and $175 for non-members. Those interested in participating or sponsoring the event can find more details and register online at https://portal.clubrunner.ca/656/Events/rotary-golf-classic-2025
