‘Expect delays’: King Street West infrastructure project set to begin in Brockville late June

Photo submitted by City of Brockville

The City of Brockville has hired K. Mulrooney Trucking to complete a major infrastructure project on King Street West between Oak Street and Cedar Street. The work, managed by the city’s engineering division, includes the replacement of aging storm sewer infrastructure and water main, as well as new sidewalks, curbs, and partial asphalt resurfacing.

Preliminary work is scheduled to begin in the final week of June, with excavation starting July 2, 2025.

The city says traffic disruptions are expected.

During excavation, King Street West will be reduced to one lane, with temporary traffic signals in place to manage the flow. Similar to traffic measures used during the 2024 project, both Cedar Street and Oak Street will be closed at King Street.

Project Timeline

  • Late June: Preliminary work
  • Early July: Excavation begins
  • Mid-September: Concrete work
  • Late September: Paving and surface restoration

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and expect delays during active construction periods.
