Gananoque is preparing to celebrate Canada Day with a packed lineup of family-friendly events, live entertainment and a fireworks display on July 1.

The celebration kicks off in Town Hall Park from 3 to 4 p.m., where magician and comedian Rob Driscoll will entertain audiences with a lively mix of humour and illusion.

Later in the evening, the action shifts to Joel Stone Park beginning at 8 p.m., where community leaders, including the town crier, poet laureate and other dignitaries, will address the crowd and lead a rendition of the national anthem.

The ever-popular local band Chickenwire will then take the stage, setting the mood with live music into the evening hours.

The night will culminate in a fireworks show over the waterfront, expected to begin around 9:45 p.m., lighting up the Gananoque sky in celebration of Canada’s birthday.

Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs, family, and Canadian pride for what organizers hope will be a day of unity, laughter, and community spirit.
