Line painting underway in Brockville: City advises caution June 18–19

The City of Brockville is advising motorists to use caution during scheduled roadway line painting operations taking place the evenings of Wednesday, June 18 and Thursday, June 19, 2025.

Due to the need for dry conditions, the city says it acknowledges the short notice and appreciates the public’s cooperation. Residents are asked to avoid parking on streets during this time, as the city will not be responsible for damage to vehicles from wet road paint.

If you encounter a line painting crew, please follow these safety guidelines:

Do:

  • Slow down and stay well behind the truck;
  • Obey warning signs on the vehicle;
  • Be patient;
  • Wait for the truck to pull over before passing, unless otherwise directed.

Don’t:

  • Pass the truck unless signage permits;
  • Cross the centreline.

In the event your vehicle comes into contact with wet paint:

  • Wash your vehicle as soon as possible;
  • If paint remains, apply WD-40, let it dry for two hours, then rewash;
  • If unsuccessful, consider filing a claim with your insurance provider.

Your understanding and cooperation are appreciated as the city works to improve roadway visibility and safety.
