Wanted Brockville man arrested after violent altercations with police

Brockville Police say a 40-year-old man wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant was taken into custody following a series of violent and volatile incidents, including vehicle theft, fleeing from police, and assaulting an officer.
Police say the man, who had been actively evading arrest and not complying with his bail conditions, had previously fled from officers on multiple occasions. On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, officers attempted to arrest him, but he allegedly fled the scene in a vehicle, prompting additional charges against him for flight from police.
Two days later, on Jun. 26, officers located the man on the outskirts of Brockville and attempted to contain his vehicle. Police allege the suspect managed to ram their cruisers and head back into the city. He then reportedly went to a family member’s home, stole another vehicle, and left once again.
Around 9:00 p.m., officers found the stolen vehicle abandoned in the Walmart parking lot on Parkedale Avenue. The man was spotted walking towards the vehicle, but when he noticed police, he tried to run back into the store. Officers intercepted him at the entrance, where he allegedly threw a can of spray paint, striking one of the officers in the face. The officer sustained minor injuries and required medical attention.
The man was finally arrested and taken into custody and he is now facing further charges related to the incidents on Jun. 26, including:
- Theft of a motor vehicle
- Dangerous operation of a conveyance
- Flight from police
- Failure to stop after an accident
- Resist arrest
- Assaulting a peace officer
- Two counts of failing to comply with a release order
The arrested individual, whose name has not been released to the public, was held in custody for a bail hearing.
