As Brockville residents continue to mourn after the deaths of a mother and her two teenage daughters last week, a celebration of life service planned for Friday at Brockville Wesleyan Church.
The deceased have been identified as Louwanda (Wanda) Elliott, 49, Mackayla Elliott, 17 and Nikita Elliott, 15.
The church said in a statement that the service will be organized and officiated by members of the victims’ family. It is scheduled for Friday, May 15 at 2 p.m. The church is located at 35 Central Avenue West.
Church officials noted that space is expected to be limited, though the service will also be livestreamed on the their YouTube channel.
“Please continue to surround this family with your support,” the statement reads.

The service comes a little over one week after Brockville Police Service responded to a residence on Cartier Court on May 7, where officers discovered three deceased females inside the home.
Police identified the victims as a 49-year-old mother and her daughters, ages 17 and 15. A 17-year-old male from Brockville was later arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree murder and assaulting a police officer.
Investigators said the accused had been in a relationship with one of the teenage victims.
“This involved intimate partner violence with these individuals,” Inspector Darryl Boyd said during a Friday, May 8 news conference. He also acknowledged the deaths could be categorized as femicide.
Police described the investigation as one of the largest homicide cases the service has faced in recent memory.
Mayor Matt Wren called the deaths an “unspeakable tragedy” that has left many community members shaken.
“My heart goes out to the family, friends, and loved ones of the victims and to everyone impacted by this terrible news,” Wren said in a statement following the deaths.
“We have always pulled together in times of hardship, and we must do so again as we navigate this immense grief,” Wren stated.
