The sights and smells of barbecue will return to the St. Lawrence waterfront later this month as Prescott Ribfest kicks off the summer season while raising funds to support local youth programs across Leeds and Grenville.

Organized in partnership with BGC South East and the Town of Prescott, the three-day event will run from May 29 to 31, 2026 at Fort Wellington at 370 Vankoughnet St.

The popular annual festival combines professional barbecue vendors, live entertainment and family activities with the aim of raising funds to support prevention-focused youth programming in the region.

According to a release from BGC South East, proceeds from the event will help fund local programs and supports for children and youth between the ages of 8 and 16, including mentorship opportunities, recreation, leadership development and social connection initiatives.

“As the need for accessible youth programming continues to grow, community events like Prescott Ribfest play an increasingly important role in ensuring young people have the support and opportunities they need to thrive,” said Bev Heuving, Director of Programs and Evaluation at BGC South East.

Festival organizers say this year’s event will feature professional ribbers serving award-winning barbecue alongside food trucks, a vendor village and live entertainment throughout the weekend.

“When people come out to enjoy Prescott Ribfest, they’re not only experiencing a fantastic weekend of family fun; they can feel good in helping strengthen supports for local youth,” said Heuving.

Attractions will include inflatables, face painting, a petting zoo and a Kid Zone, as well as a 3M STEM and robotics area offering hands-on learning experiences for children and youth, as well as a beverage garden, and Vendor Village showcasing local artisans for adults to enjoy.

Festival hours are scheduled for 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 29, and Saturday, May 30, with Sunday hours running from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
