Brockville youth spends two weeks at Queen’s Park as legislative page

A Brockville student from Académie catholique Ange-Gabriel recently travelled to Queen’s Park in Toronto to spend two weeks in the Legislative Assembly as part of their page program.
Azaad Sekhon was chosen as one of approximately 150 Grade 7 and 8 students from across Ontario to participate in the program. Legislative pages meet key parliamentary and political figures, and learn first-hand about Ontario’s parliament and the legislative process.
“It’s been a privilege to watch Azaad Sekhon in action as a legislative page at Queen’s Park over the past two weeks,” wrote MPP Clark in a social media post on Tuesday, May 14, 2026.
“I was pleased to have the opportunity to host Azaad, his dad, Danny, and grandparents Lucille and Sukhdev, for lunch. What a wonderful, friendly, and bright young man who is doing his school Académie catholique Ange-Gabriel and Leeds & Grenville very proud.”
Clark told Brockvilleist he’s big believer in Ontario’s legislative page program.
“Over my 16 years as MPP, I’ve heard from former pages about how their experience at Queen’s Park helped to shape their future path to success,” he said, noting that the program gives students an invaluable opportunity to gain firsthand insight into how decisions that affect the day-to-day lives of people and communities across Ontario are made.
“They can engage directly with Legislative Assembly staff and MPPs, while building lasting friendships and memories with their fellow pages from every corner of our province.
“The experience helps nurture Ontario’s next generation of leaders by building confidence, developing leadership skills, and inspiring young people to get involved and use their voices to make a difference in their community,” Clark continued.
For students wishing to apply for the Fall 2026 session of the Legislative Assembly’s page program, the deadline is Monday, Jun. 15, 2026. For more information about the program and to apply, visit the Legislative Assembly of Ontario website.
