Visitors to Brockville Shriners’ Fair this weekend will have the chance to cool off and participate in family-friendly activities with ‘The Oasis at The Core’.

The Brockville Shriners’ Fair is taking place from Thursday, Jun. 4 to Sunday, Jun. 7, 2026 at Stewart Village, outside the Brockville Shopping Centre.

The Core is a sports complex at Stewart Village, 125 Stewart Boulevard, which offers community-based recreation and entertainment. Previously known to locals as the Stingers building, which continues to operate its indoor paintball experience alongside other operators within the facility, The Core has evolved into a gathering space for the community.

‘The Oasis’ is a new indoor feature that will run for the same hours as the fair, but operate independently with its own ticket system.

“This is our very first time running an event of this nature. We are currently treating this as a pilot program to test the waters,” wrote Rudrah Shaha, Marketing Assistant and Event Planner at The Core, in an email to Brockvilleist.

“If successful, we will consider establishing this as an annual indoor fair that runs alongside the Shriners’ Fair.”

‘The Oasis’ will feature three games: ‘Throw for Hope’ a kid-friendly axe-throwing challenge, ‘Serve and Support’ a pickleball serving game, and ‘The Big Give Goal’ a soccer target practice arena.

The axe throwing challenge is hosted by Capitol Axe Throwing. Players will receive five throws and high scorers will receive promotional offers for future visits. An active on-site leaderboard will be kept.

The pickleball serving game is hosted by Brockville Racquet Club. Participants will stand at the edge of the court’s ‘kitchen’ line and attempt to serve five pickleballs into five large target buckets placed on the opposite side of the net. Each bucket will have a different point value and a leaderboard will track scores. High scorers will receive promotional offers.

The soccer target practice will take place on the indoor field. A target net with cutout zones will be fitted over the goalposts, and players will have five attempts to kick the ball through the cutouts to earn points. A leaderboard will also be kept, and each time a record is broken, players will receive an exclusive promotional offer.

One Love Jamaican Cuisine is the primary vendor at The Core, and will be operating a stall with Jamaican patties and drinks.

“We want to create an immersive experience that bridges the locals of Brockville with notable local small businesses,” wrote Shaha.

Visitors to ‘The Oasis’ can choose from three different event passes, detailed below.

The Oasis Ultimate Pass ($10): This all-inclusive experience includes access to all three interactive games, a Jamaican patty, and a cold beverage of choice.

The Oasis Game Pass ($5): Includes access to any two of the featured sports and target games.

The Oasis Snack Pass ($5): Includes a Jamaican patty and a cold beverage of choice.

Thirty per cent of the net-proceeds from these passes will support Shriners’ Children’s Hospitals and the Hubs of Co-Creation, helping fund vital community and charitable initiatives.

“We aim to foster active living by providing games and activities that allow kids of all ages to try out different sports,” Shaha wrote.

“We want parents to feel entirely comfortable letting their kids have fun in a controlled, safe, and air-conditioned environment. Ultimately, we want families to realize these facilities support healthy family fun year-round, not just during fair weekend.”
