Roadway line painting is scheduled to take place in Brockville this evening (Thursday, June 4).

The City of Brockville says contractors will be completing the work during the evening hours, weather permitting.

Residents are asked to avoid parking on streets where line painting is taking place.

The City is also reminding drivers that fresh paint may remain on road surfaces for a short time after application. Motorists are asked to follow posted signage and use caution when travelling through active work areas.

Drivers who encounter line painting crews should slow down, stay well behind the truck, obey all warning signs and wait for crews to pull over before passing unless directed otherwise.

The City is asking drivers not to pass line painting vehicles unless directed by signage and to avoid driving over freshly painted lines.

If a vehicle comes into contact with wet paint, the city recommends visiting a car wash as soon as possible. If needed, WD-40 can be applied to affected areas and left for up to two hours before washing the vehicle again.

If paint remains, drivers may consider submitting a claim through their insurance.

The city noted it is not responsible for damage caused by driving over wet paint.
