Brockville’s annual Community Treasure Day returns this weekend

Residents looking to declutter their homes, find a hidden gem or give unwanted items a second chance will have the opportunity to do just that when Brockville’s Community Treasure Day returns on Saturday, June 13, with a second event taking place later this year on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026.

Community Treasure Day has become a favourite event for bargain hunters, where simply perusing the streets can lead you to discover household goods, furniture, books, toys, décor, clothing and other items that still have value.

The popular community event encourages residents to place unwanted but still usable items at the curbside for others to take at no cost. The initiative promotes reuse, waste reduction and community sharing while keeping reusable items out of local landfills.

Residents who wish to participate this weekend are asked to place their items at the curb by 9 a.m. on June 13. The City is reminding participants to only place items at the curb that are available for collection on that day. On the other hand, residents who are out looking for items should not enter private property or remove items from anywhere other than designated curbside locations.

Any items that remain unclaimed must be removed from the curb by 6 p.m. and properly disposed of by the property owner.

The City noted that residents who still need to dispose of unwanted materials after the event can access the Brockville Waste Management Transfer Station, which accepts a variety of items not collected through regular curbside pickup, including electronics, construction and demolition materials, recycling and other waste products.

The Brockville Transfer Station, located at 1380 California Ave., is open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents are encouraged to call ahead to confirm accepted materials and any applicable fees.
