Motorists travelling along Centennial Road should prepare for construction-related delays as a major roadway rehabilitation project gets underway next week.

In a release issued on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, the City of Brockville shared they has awarded a contract to Tackaberry & Sons Construction Co. to rehabilitate Centennial Road between Windsor Drive and California Avenue.

According to the city’s Engineering Division, the work will include Cold In-Place Recycling (CIR) of the existing asphalt road base, followed by the application of a new asphalt surface. The process allows much of the existing roadway material to be reused, improving the long-term condition and durability of one of the city’s key transportation corridors.

Although preliminary work has already begun, the majority of construction activities are scheduled to start next week on June 29, 2026. The project is expected to continue throughout July, with completion anticipated by the end of the month.

To minimize disruptions, one lane of traffic will remain open during construction and a pilot vehicle will be used to guide motorists safely through the work zone and maintain traffic flow in both directions along Centennial Road.

City officials are reminding residents and commuters to plan for possible delays by allowing extra travel time and exercising caution when travelling through the construction area. Drivers are also reminded to follow all posted signage and directions from traffic control personnel to ensure the safety of both workers and the public.
