Ontario rebates liquor licence fees for Leeds and Grenville Legion branches

Royal Canadian Legions across Leeds and Grenville will receive rebates toward their liquor licenses in an effort by the Ontario government aimed at reducing operating costs for the organizations.
The province is providing full liquor sales licence fee rebates to eligible Royal Canadian Legion branches applying for or renewing their liquor sales licences, including 14 in Leeds and Grenville, according to a media release from MPP Steve Clark.
The program took effect on June 1, 2026, and applies retroactively to April 1.
Clark visited Branch 105 in Cardinal on Wednesday, July 8 to highlight the initiative.
The Cardinal chapter, like other Legion branches across the region, provides support to veterans and their families while leading remembrance activities, fundraising efforts and community events.
“Branch 105 in Cardinal is a cornerstone of the community, supporting veterans and bringing people together,” Clark said in the release. “By helping reduce operating costs, our government is ensuring legions can continue providing the programs, services and support that veterans and local families rely on.”
Attorney General Doug Downey said the rebate recognizes the important role Legion branches play in communities across Ontario.
“Ontario’s legions have long been at the heart of communities across our province, serving veterans, supporting local charities and bringing people together,” Downey said. “That’s why our government is providing liquor sales licence fee rebates that will help legion branches dedicate more resources to the people and causes they serve across Ontario.”
Provincewide, 391 Royal Canadian Legion branches currently hold liquor sales licences and are eligible for the rebate program.
