The City of Brockville is advising drivers to expect delays this week as work continues on the rehabilitation of Centennial Road between Windsor Drive and California Avenue.

Road crews will carry out preparation work on Tuesday, July 21, ahead of final paving. Traffic disruptions and delays are expected throughout the day, the City says in a notice.

Asphalt paving is scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, and Thursday, July 23. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area if possible and allow extra travel time if travelling along Centennial Road.

The rehabilitation project is being completed by Tackaberry & Sons Construction Co. on behalf of the City’s Engineering Division.

The work includes cold in-place recycling of the existing asphalt road base, followed by the installation of a new asphalt surface.

Construction began in late June and is expected to be completed by the end of July.

Throughout the project, one lane of traffic has remained open, with a pilot vehicle directing drivers through the work zone, the City explains.
