Brockville residents will have to wait a little longer to see this year’s Canada Day fireworks, as the display has been postponed for a second time this summer because of unfavourable weather.

The City of Brockville announced this past weekend that the fireworks, most recently scheduled for Sunday, August 2, 2026 have been rescheduled to Saturday, Aug. 29, at 8:30 p.m. at Blockhouse Island.

As previously reported, the annual display was originally planned in early July as part of the city’s Canada Day celebrations but was previously postponed because of poor weather conditions. Sunday’s rainy and stormy forecast then forced city organizers to delay the event once again.

“The safety of residents, visitors, and event staff remains our top priority,” the city clarified in a statement announcing the latest postponement.

City officials thanked residents for their patience and said it looks forward to welcoming spectators to Blockhouse Island where the fireworks are expected to take place later this month, weather permitting.
