Brockville motorists to face multiple road closures as construction season continues

Drivers in Brockville are being advised to plan ahead as two major road construction projects bring temporary traffic restrictions and road closures over the coming weeks.
In two separate notices issued on Friday, August 21, 2026, the City of Brockville said its annual road rehabilitation program and the ongoing Bartholomew Street Reconstruction Project will affect traffic in several areas.
As part of their annual road rehabilitation program, the city shared that crews will be working on Reynolds Drive and Central Avenue on Monday, Aug. 24.
On Reynolds Drive, westbound traffic between North Augusta Road and Salisbury Avenue will be prohibited during the morning, while eastbound traffic on Central Avenue between Stewart Boulevard and Balmoral Place will be closed throughout the afternoon.
The rehabilitation project, which began on Aug. 10 and is expected to continue into September, is being carried out by G. Tackaberry & Sons Construction Co. Ltd. under the supervision of the City’s Engineering Division.
According to city officials, another notable traffic disruption will be taking place from Aug. 31 to Sept. 3. King Street East will be closed to through-traffic at Bartholomew Street as crews complete storm and sanitary sewer work for the Bartholomew Street Reconstruction Project.

During the closure, westbound traffic will be detoured north on North Augusta Road, west on Pearl Street East, south on Park Street and back to King Street East. Eastbound traffic will follow the reverse route, travelling north on Park Street, east on Pearl Street East, south on North Augusta Road and back to King Street East.
The city detailed that to help accommodate increased traffic along the detour, temporary parking restrictions will be in effect on:
- The south side of Pearl Street East between Park Street and Orchard Street
- On both sides of Park Street from Pearl Street to James Street
- On both sides of Park Street from King Street to Pine Street; and
- the north side of King Street East at Park Street.
The City reassured residents that every effort will be made to maintain access and minimize disruptions while both road projects are underway.

I do not see anything about the proposed construction on King St West between Cedar and River.
The traffic cones are out already, the signs are up but no mention in this article.
Construction there seems to be a yearly thing by the way.
