Death at Spencerville residence under investigation by OPP

UPDATE: OPP investigating Spencerville death as homicide, victim had been reported missing

Grenville OPP are investigating after an individual was located deceased at a home in Spencerville over the weekend.

Police say officers attended the Crowder Road residence on Saturday, Aug. 29. The OPP’s Sgt. Erin Cranton confirmed for Brockvilleist that the death is being treated as suspicious.

When asked about the name of the deceased, how they died and if the residence was their own home, Cranton said “this is an ongoing investigation. We will provide more information as it becomes available.”

“Preliminary information suggests this is an isolated incident, with no signs of a broader threat,” Cranton said. “Police continue to investigate and are actively monitoring the situation.”

Police said over the weekend that area residents can expect to see an increased police presence as officers continue the investigation.
