Road closures and traffic delays, week ending Oct. 3, 2026

City of Brockville

Motorists across Brockville and Leeds-Grenville can expect another week of construction and traffic delays, including overnight work on Highway 401, an ongoing street reconstruction project in Brockville and several road and bridge projects across the United Counties.

On Highway 401 in Brockville, nightly single-lane closures continue in both directions between approximately 2.6 kilometres east of North Augusta Road and 2.6 kilometres west of Stewart Boulevard.

Work is scheduled Sunday into Monday from 10 p.m. to 11 a.m., Monday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 11 a.m., and Friday night into Saturday from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. Motorists should expect delays of up to 10 minutes.

The eastbound and westbound on- and off-ramps at Stewart Boulevard and North Augusta Road may also be closed overnight as required. At least one of the two interchanges will remain accessible during the work.

In Brockville, Bartholomew Street remains closed between King Street East and James Street East as a major reconstruction project continues. The work includes replacing water, sanitary, and storm infrastructure, followed by reconstruction of the road, curbs, and sidewalks. The City expects the project to continue through the end of October, weather permitting.

In Rideau Lakes, County Road 14, or Narrows Lock Road, remains fully closed between County Road 42 and McCann Road for road and culvert replacement. The closure is scheduled to remain in place through Friday, Oct. 2, with no through traffic permitted. A signed detour is directing motorists along County Road 42, Little Rideau Lake Road and McCann Road.

Wright’s Bridge rehabilitation also continues on County Road 7 in Elizabethtown-Kitley. County Road 7 remains closed between County Road 16 and Kinch Street, with local access maintained on either side of the bridge. Traffic is being detoured along County Road 16, County Road 29 and Kinch Street. The project is currently scheduled through Oct. 16.

In Front of Yonge, rehabilitation of Leeder Bridge on County Road 5 continues. The bridge remains open with one lane closed, while temporary traffic signals maintain two-way traffic through the construction area. The project is expected to continue through Oct. 13.

Rehabilitation also continues on County Road 21 between Roebuck and Spencerville. The approximately 5.8-kilometre project includes culvert replacement, asphalt work, grading and guardrail upgrades. Motorists may encounter single-lane closures, flagging and increased construction traffic, with work scheduled to continue through November.
