Road closures and traffic delays week ending Oct. 11

Motorists across Brockville, Gananoque and Leeds and Grenville can expect another week of construction and traffic delays, including several overnight lane closures on Highway 401.
Near Gananoque, nightly maintenance continues on westbound Highway 401 between Cliffe Road and the County Road 2 interchange. The right lane may be closed overnight through Thursday morning, Oct. 8.
In Brockville, nightly construction continues on Highway 401 between Stewart Boulevard and North Augusta Road. Drivers may encounter single-lane closures in both directions, with delays of up to 10 minutes possible. Ramps at Stewart Boulevard and North Augusta Road may also close as required, although one of the two interchanges will remain accessible.
Farther east, a westbound lane closure begins Monday night on Highway 401 between Edward Street in Prescott and Maitland Road. The work is scheduled nightly beginning at 9 p.m. and continues through Oct. 16.
In Gananoque, traffic lanes on King Street East between Charles Street and Carmichael Drive will be shifted and temporarily closed Monday through Friday while crews apply a protective surface treatment. At least one entrance to each business along the construction area will remain open, although access may be temporarily limited.
The intersection of Elmwood Drive and Pine Street East also remains closed as work and road restoration continue on the Elmwood watermain project. The Town’s current disruption notice runs through Oct. 9.
In Brockville, Bartholomew Street remains fully closed between King Street East and James Street East for reconstruction. The project is expected to continue through the end of October.
Several longer-term United Counties projects also remain active. Wright’s Bridge on County Road 7 in Elizabethtown-Kitley remains under rehabilitation through Oct. 16, while work on Leeder Bridge on County Road 5 in Front of Yonge continues through Oct. 13.
County Road 21 remains under construction between Roebuck and Spencerville, where drivers may encounter lane reductions and flagging operations as rehabilitation continues into November.
Rehabilitation also continues on County Road 14 between County Road 42 and Narrows Weir through November, while work on County Road 2 between the Kingston and Gananoque municipal boundaries continues through October, with single-lane closures possible.
