Small fire at Brockville Railway Tunnel

A small fire broke out at the south entrance of the Brockville Railway Tunnel on the morning of Saturday, Oct. 19.
“It appears that someone had started a ‘campfire’ which eventually caused the door to the tunnel ignite,” Inspector Darryl Boyd from the Brockville Police Service told Brockvilleist.
Thankfully, no one was injured. Boyd said the suspect(s) are unknown.
“The damages are unfortunate, but considered minor,” Boyd stated, adding that the total damage estimate is unknown this time as city staff have not completed the repairs.
Brockvilleist will continue to follow this story, and provide updates as they are made available.
